Become a Governor

Warlingham School is keen to encourage parents, carers and members of the wider school community to become involved in the governing body, to help us make even more progress towards delivering outstanding learning outcomes for all of the children in school.

We have some vacancies arising over this coming term, and are particularly keen to find people who can bring the following professional skills to the team:

  • secondary phase education
  • law
  • human resources
  • accountancy / financial services
  • risk management and audit
  • health and safety
  • facilities and premises
  • wellbeing.

Governance of an academy is a rigorous, challenging and yet thoroughly satisfying way to give back to the school and community, to develop new knowledge and skills, and to gain an insight into the changing education landscape. We do require you to commit to training so that you can provide the challenge to the school that the role of governor demands, and to be able to attend committee meetings which are always on Tuesday evenings, at 6pm in school.

If you feel that you could bring some of these skills to the governing team and would like to learn more, do please contact our Clerk, Zoe Taylor ( and she will be delighted to provide you with more information.
