What to Wear During Activities Week

Year 7

Students should wear normal school uniform (blazer optional), with the exception of the Imperial War Museum and Greenwich trips. On these occasions they can wear their own clothing but must wear the school polo shirt for recognition purposes.  Students need to bring a packed lunch on all trips out of school.

Year 8

Students should wear normal school uniform (blazer optional), with the exception of their trip to Go Ape (where they should wear casual/sportswear, and the creative Arts days, for which they can wear their own clothes, which should be suitable for dancing/Martial arts/ amongst other activities.  Students must bring a packed lunch for the Go Ape trip.

Year 9

On Monday and Tuesday, Year 9 students should wear the school polo shirt with trousers, a skirt or shorts. If shorts or a skirt, they should not be too skimpy – no hotpants or mini skirts.

During the third day (Wednesday), the students will be taking part in a number of different physical and mental challenges on the field, so we are asking that they wear casual clothes, which they don’t mind getting dirty. We suggest that the clothing should be comfortable and they must be able to move freely so tight-fitting jeans are not recommended. Footwear should be sensible, comfortable and sturdy. Open-toed footwear is not allowed for health and safety reasons; trainers or old tennis shoes would be suitable. The activities will be outside, so the weather should also be considered – a hat and sun protection cream if it’s sunny and waterproof outerwear in case of rain.

Please note that the dress guidelines in the previous two paragraphs will be enforced; any students that do not comply with the guidelines will be expected to go home and change, if practicable, or they may be removed from the activities entirely and given something else to do.

For the trips on Thursday and Friday Year 9 students can wear their own clothing but must wear the school polo shirt for recognition purposes.  Students must bring packed lunch for Thursday and Friday. Students Ice Skating must bring a warm, long sleeved top and gloves are advised – it will be very cold!!
