As part of our commitment to securing healthy and happy futures for our school community, we have formed Good Going - a group of staff and student working on environmental and sustainability issues.
Good Going promotes positive lifestyles to our staff and students by organising a variety of activities and events such as a ‘Walk to School Week’, via a regular slot in our half termly school newsletter, Warlingham News and through this webpage.
Good Going encompasses three main areas; the school Travel Plan, Eco School and Healthy School projects.

TRAVEL PLAN
Working alongside Surrey County Council, the local Police and various charities, Warlingham School has launched a travel plan initiative.
The aim of this project is to increase the number of students walking/cycling to school by promoting road awareness, the health benefits and the impact we all have on the environment.
We have various major projects and exciting challenges in the pipeline. All are aimed at improving the journey to school, making the local roads safer, and by linking up with Healthy Schools and Eco Schools, helping to provide a healthier, more eco friendly approach to how we all get to and from school.

ECO SCHOOL
The Eco Schools project works towards making Warlingham School ‘greener’. We have just achieved our silver flag, and this year we aim to accomplish the status of the prestigious green flag. This will only be possible with everyone’s support! One of the green flag criteria is to issue the school’s action plan to the school community. This will be on the schools website, under ‘Eco-school’. We are focused on nine key environmental topics:
Water - Global Perspectives - Litter - School Grounds - Transport Biodiversity - Healthy Living - Energy - Waste/Recycling
With your support Warlingham School can really make a difference, so please help promote the importance of environmental issues to your children.

HEALTHY SCHOOL
Warlingham School has recently gained National Healthy School status. We will continue to find healthier activities and alternatives to improve the school environment. The National Healthy School status requires the school to develop in four main areas:
It is important to remember the programme is not just about eating well and getting active; it’s all about good health and happiness inside and out.
