Exams

Once again, Warlingham students put in a strong performance this summer which has led to examination success at all levels.

A Level

The A level pass rate of 98% (with an average points’ score of 321) respresents a high level of commitment and hard work from all of our Year 13 cohort and means that virtually every student has gained the qualifications needed to access the higher education courses of their choice. Our ALIS Value Added Analysis shows a significant positive score and the ALPS Analysis conducted on behalf of the Local Authority judges achievements to be “outstanding”. Ten students achieved a full set of 3+ A grades and another 13 achieved at least 2 grade As and a B. Lizzie Maskey and Lauren Showler’s achievements are particularly noteworthy. Nearly half of all papers sat were graded A or B. At AS level (Year 12), Louise Outlaw, Poppy Brown, Adil Alhinai, Jack Hills and Alex Tyler all graded 3 or 4 A grades.

GCSE

We are absolutely delighted to report that 80% of our Year 11 cohort achieved 5 or more GCSEs at grades A*-C. This is a really significant increase on last years’ performance (70%) which was our best ever and reflects the success of a whole range of strategies employed to enhance the performance of the year group as a whole as well as targeted interventions with individuals. 64% of our students reached the benchmark of 5+ A*-C grades including English and Maths – again, this is our best ever score. Every student in the year group gained at least one GCSE qualification; 96% passed at least 5. Year 10 students who took GCSE examinations a year early met with pleasing success in Statistics, Media Studies and RE.
