International School Award (ISA) recipient, Warlingham School, hosted its first ever International Diversity Week in October during which it organised a variety of fundraising events in support of the Great Ormond Street Hospital. On Monday, 7th December 2009, Great Ormond Street Hospital’s School Presenter, Louise Fern visited the school to talk to the students about the charity and accept a cheque for £1,439.11 raised by pupils in both the lower and upper school. Louise Fern said: ’It was a real pleasure to attend Warlingham School, not least to receive the cheque of over £1,400 but to meet and thank the school personally. Great Ormond Street relies heavily on public support and it is incredibly encouraging when a school goes to such great lengths to raise an incredible amount of money. Great Ormond Street Hospital would not be where it is today without this kind of support. Enormous thanks go to all the pupils for their fundraising efforts but also a big thank you to all the staff for helping to make it all happen.’
