Remote Learning - Guidance and Support

The Remote Learning Model

Our model for remote learning is based on the experiences and learning undertaken during the first national lockdown, along with research undertaken and provided by the EEF and DfE.

Our Procedures

Our procedures for remote learning during a period of school closure are as follows.

Students will receive work via Satchel One, lessons will appear at 8.30am on the morning they are due to take place.  In order that students do not become overwhelmed by the volume of work, we ask that where possible students complete their lessons as per the normal school timetable.  In many instances the lessons or parts of the lessons will be delivered ‘live’ via Teams, where this is the case students will be notified in Satchel, there will also be a meeting scheduled in the calendar section of Teams.

Please see the video below, in order to make the most of using the Calendar within Satchel One to help organise your time and how to connect to a Teams ‘live’ lesson where this has been set.

Where students have completed work electronically, for example in a Word or PowerPoint document, they will be asked to submit and upload it to Satchel One as above.  In addition to this all electronically produced work should be saved to the OneDrive. The benefit of this process is that it ensures students will have access to the work both at home and once they return to school.  All students have access to Office 365 using their school email address and password.  They currently utilise this every time they login to Teams.  The link below will take students to video that explains how to use OneDrive and the common file structure we would like them to use.
