Physical Activity Competition - Lockdown 3.0

The P.E. Department has launched an exciting inter-house/year group competition that will run for five weeks, covering our time in Lockdown 3.0.

During lockdown, it is more important than ever to keep active and reap the benefits of physical activity. It's medically proven that regularly undertaking physical activity helps to; promote positive mental health, maintain body weight, lower blood pressure, increase muscle strength and function, improve bone health and strength, improve sleep and overall improve your quality of life.

We do hope that you have all been able to be active in some way, during this tough time and we would like to recognise your efforts!

Entering the Competition

Whenever you are physically active, record your time and/or distance.  Then, upload your time and/or distance on the Microsoft Form we have created (takes about 1 minute), which can be found/accessed on Satchel One by clicking here.

You can complete a Microsoft Form each time you are physically active (e.g. walk/run/cycle, home workout – fitness session, yoga, etc.). Therefore, the more exercise you do, the more entries you can submit and the more you will play your part for your house and year group! This is a house / year group competition, and the results will be published weekly - check our social media feeds.

Students and staff will be competing for the following:

- The longest time spent exercising
- The distance (in kilometres) travelled

It would be great to see your stats (e.g. from Strava, Nike app, etc.) and a workout photo uploaded on to the Form, although this is optional!

Inter-house and students versus staff

The competition is open to all year groups AND school staff. Students - do not let the school staff beat you and your year group! Play your part for your house and year group and get as active as possible over the next 5 weeks (until 14th February)!

House Results (Updated 8th February 2021)

The fourth week's results are in for our P.E. Competition. The total distance covered by staff and students in the first week was 1165km - the equivalent of travelling from the School to Cannes.  By the end of the second week, we had travelled as far as Scilla, on the southern tip of Italy and by the third week, we'd covered a total distance of 3550km, which is the equivalent of travelling from Warlingham to Tassili N’Ajjer National Park in Algeria.  This week, we've now made it as far as Bizlan in Azerbaijan!
