Collection of Certificates

Certificates are important documents and should be kept in a safe place. Even many years after leaving school, it is highly likely that colleges, universities and employers will ask to see them. Students are therefore strongly advised to remember to collect their examination certificates from school withih the time frames detailed below. Students should note that certificates are NOT the same as exam result slips.for students who achieved GCSEs and A Levels in the Summer of that year.

How long will school keep my certificates?

The school is only required to hold certificates for a period of 12 months from the date of issue. After this time, the school can send the certificates for secure destruction.

When will my certificates be available for collection?

Generally, wihin three months of receiving your examination results.

Will the school remind me to collect my certificates?

Students will be reminded about collecting certificates at the pre-exam assemblies and in the Exam Informations Booklet, which is e-mailed to all candidates. No further reminders will be given.

How can I collect my examination certificates?

Certificates are available for collection from December 2021 for students who achieved GCSEs and A Levels in the Summer of that year.

We may also have certificates awaiting collection for students who left a few years before this time.

Certificates are not automatically sent out because they need to be signed for.  Students should arrange to collect their certificates.

Please note that schools are only allowed to accept instruction from students, not from their parents/carers in respect of their exam results and certificates.

In person contact exams@warlinghamtlt.co.uk to arrange.

Nominate someone to collect for you by letter, or contact exams@warlinghamtlt.co.uk to allow a nominated person to collect on your behalf.

By post either, write to the Exams Office at Warlingham School, Tithepit Shaw Lane, Warlingham, Surrey, CR6 9YB, requesting this service and confirming the address that the certificate is to be sent to, together with a cheque payable to Warlingham School for £2.70.

Email us at exams@warlinghamtlt.co.uk and we may be able set up Wisepay for payment.

Certificates are sent by recorded delivery.

Further information regarding this is available on the school website, on the Examination Information page.

What can i do if I have not collected my certificates and the school no longer holds them?

You will need to contact the relevant exam boards and follow their replacement certificate procedure. This is a costly and lengthy process which you will need to instigate and pay for yourself. More information on this process can be found on the school's website.
