New for 2019-20

The School is proposing to slightly reduce the amount of time that students are required to be in school on Thursdays and we  have sought the thoughts and views of our staff and parent/carer community as part of this important school consultation.  The proposed change will take effect at the start of term in September 2019.

A consultation meeting was held at the School on Wednesday 19th June 2019 to address the initial parental concerns that arose and to invite further views, in order to better inform our decision in respect of this proposal.  All points that were raised by parents/carers have been taken into consideration and form a key part of the decision making process.

As a result of the consultation, it has been decided that we will proceed with the proposal to shorten the school day on Thursdays. The Tandridge Learning Trust Board have stipulated that this new arrangement will initially be for a period of one year and will be subject to review in the first summer half term of 2020. Parental, staff and student feedback will be sought as part of this mid-term review in order to gauge the success of the change and to address any issues, unforeseen or otherwise, that may arise.

The Chair of Governors and Joint Heads of School wrote to parents/carers on 10th June 19, to outline the rationale for this proposal and to invite them to participate in the consultation.  Click here to view the letter.  Following the consultation meeting on 19th June, the School has written to parents with further details of the proposed changes.  Click here to view the post-consultation letter to parents.
