PE Lockdown Challenge - Week 5

 

 

Week 5 PE challenge is set by Mrs Haynes. This challenge includes 5 fitness tests that you need to complete at the start of the week and then again at the end of the week to see if you can improve your results.

  • Stand on one foot on your toes for 1 minute
  • Two attempts on each foot then record your best score.
  • Record the time you achieve for both your left and then your right foot.

Agility

 

 

  • Place a stick or ruler on the floor
  • Stand one side of the stick and then jump over the stick with both feet together.
  • Complete as many as you can in 1 minute.

Reaction Time

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • You will need a partner for this one and a ruler
  • You hold your thumb and index finger at the bottom of the ruler (0 cm), not touching it. Your partner will hold the ruler at the top.
  • When your partner drops the ruler quickly react and grab the ruler.
  • Count how many cm on the ruler your fingers land on.  e.g. 5cm
  • Attempt this twice  on your left and then twice on your right.
  • Record your best score. ( the closer to 1cm the better)

Flexibility

 

 

 

 

  • Sit on the floor with legs together
  • With both hands together try and touch your toes and see how far you can get.
  • With the ruler measure how close you are to your toes. If you go past them this is a +,  for example  + 5 cm and if you are not able to reach your toes this is a – for example – 5 cm.
  • Three attempts and record your best score.
  • (Handy tip – stretch before you do the test!)

Co-ordination

 

 

 

 

  • You will need one tennis balls
  • Stand facing a wall ( Outside)  1m away from the wall
  • Start with the ball in your left hand.
  • Throw the ball against the wall and catch it in your right hand and then repeat this back the other way.
  • Count how many catches you can do in 1 minute.
  • Have two attempt and record your best score.
